Dr. Levine, director of The Fatherhood Project at the Families and Work Institute in New York City, has been creating innovative services for parents and children throughout his career. He has been a preschool teacher in East Oakland, California; founding director of a comprehensive childcare program in Massachusetts' second largest public housing project; founding director of the National School-Age Child Care Project; and vice president of the Bank Street College of Education in NYC, where he originally founded The Fatherhood Project in 1981.
Jim is the author of seven books, over 100 articles, and produced the PBS Documentary, Fatherhood USA. In 1997, Working Mother magazine named him as one of the top 25 men in America who make a difference in the lives of working mothers. In 1998, ABC's 20/20 profiled his work and The Wall Street Journal selected his most recent book, Working Fathers: New Strategies for Balancing Work and Family, as one of the top ten work-life books of the year. |
