Dr. James Lakings, Chief Geophysicist. Lakings received his B.S. in Geophysics from New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology in 1988 where he worked on data from the first micro-earthquake network in the United States. He obtained his doctorate in Geology from Duke University in 1997 based on his dissertation titled "Microseismotectonics of the Coso Volcanic Field, Eastern California." He joined Anadarko Petroleum as an exploration geophysicist in 1998, and worked on a variety of onshore and offshore 3D seismic projects. James joined MSI. as Chief Geophysicist in 2004 where he combines his educational background and industry experience to bring forward a multidisciplinary approach to the application of micro-earthquake data for the exploration and exploitation of natural resources. |
