James St. Clair is a seasoned commercial lender with over fifteen years experience originating, structuring and underwriting asset based and cash flow loan transactions. Jim is skilled in originating commercial loan transactions, analyzing business plan projections and cash flows, heading due diligence teams, negotiating loan documents, underwriting and funding new loans, and performing annual credit and collateral reviews.
Prior to joining Focus Management Group, Jim served as Vice President for the Commercial Lending Division of Textron Financial, where he was accountable for all aspects of new loan origination. Exceeding annual income quotas each year during his tenure, Jim established exclusive loan referral programs with banks in the United States and Canada and closed and funded new loans with aggregate commitments of $520M.
In other recent roles, Jim was the Vice President for GE Capital Commercial Services, where he was responsible for the origination of factoring and lines of credit of up to $100M. He also managed the Corporate Finance division of ORIX Corporation and led the origination of asset based and cash flow loans in fourteen states across the United States.
Jim graduated summa cum laude from Babson College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. He is a member of the Commercial Finance Association, the Turnaround Management Association, the Association for Corporate Growth, and the National Funding Association.
