James W. George serves as of counsel in the Firm’s Oklahoma City office. His legal areas of practice include the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, oil and gas, and energy laws. With nearly 50 years of legal experience, Mr. George has argued cases in front of the U.S. Supreme Court as well as various U.S. District Courts. Mr. George has been honored with many awards throughout his legal career, including being the 2003 recipient of the Eugene Kuntz Award for outstanding contribution to oil and gas law and policy from the University of Oklahoma College of Law and the Oklahoma Bar Association. He is also listed in The Best Lawyers in America for natural resources law. Some of Mr. George’s professional memberships include serving as the chairman of the Administrative Law Section of the Oklahoma Bar Association, and president of the Oklahoma City Mineral Lawyers Society. He has also served as master of the Luther Bohanon American Inn of Court, and has sat on the advisory board for the Energy Law Institute of the Center of American and International Law.
