James Bergenn's practice is comprised of complex business litigation - both criminal and civil - white collar crime and government investigations, and substantial personal injury and wrongful death cases. Jim volunteered his legal services by representing one of the World Trade Center 911 victims before the 911 Victims Compensation Fund Committee.
He began his career in 1979 as a law clerk for Chief United States District Judge T. Emmet Clarie.
Jim has completed his 20th year teaching trial practice at the University of Connecticut Law School. Jim is regularly called upon to train trial lawyers in both advocacy skills and evidence for the Connecticut Trial Advocacy Institute, the CTLA, and the state and county bar associations. He is also a frequent legal commentator for the NBC, CBA and Fox affiliated television stations, Court TV and WTIC radio programs.
