James Howatt, MD, is the Chief Medical Officer (CMO). He is responsible for medical management and oversight responsibilities for utilization management, quality improvement, credentialing, pharmacy, and health education activities. Dr. Howatt has served as Western Regional Medical Director for Humana, Inc.; Vice President, Chief Medical Officer for Humana Arizona; and Chief Medical Officer for Tricare (a Humana healthcare program for active-duty and retirees, members of the uniformed services and their families). Dr. Howatt’s other experience includes private practice, active duty in the USAF, as well as Reserves USAF and Air National Guard.
Dr. Howatt received both his BS and MD from the University of California, San Francisco. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Practice and American College of Managed Care Medicine. |
