Jay brings more than two decades of Capitol Hill and government affairs experience to the Alpine Group. Jay's most recent tenure on Capitol Hill was as a Health Policy Advisor to then-Chairman James Jeffords of the Senate Health Education Labor and Pensions Committee (HELP). At the HELP Committee Jay was involved in the creation debate and passage of the Food and Drug Administration Modernization Act of 1997. He also worked on numerous other health policy issues before the Senate HELP and Senate Finance Committees.
Prior to serving the Chairman of the Senate HELP Committee Jay worked for several Members of the House Energy and Commerce Committee. While working for House Members in the mid 1980s Jay specialized in health trade and environmental issues.
Jay also has extensive private sector experience. Upon leaving his service in the House of Representatives in 1989 Jay worked in the medical communications field in Los Angeles. From 1990 to 1993 he assisted health and technology companies with marketing product launches and public relations. During this period he also provided lobbying services for health technology companies. In 1993 Jay returned to Washington continuing his government affairs activities for drug medical device and biotech companies.
Most recently Jay was a partner at Bergner Bockorny Castagnetti Hawkins and Brain. He continued his work on behalf of a wide variety of clients including several clients in the health policy arena. Jay will continue to focus on the health sector at the Alpine Group and offer strategic counsel to clients across all issue areas. |
