Dr. James W. Bosler III was elected to the Board of Directors on July 1, 2005. Bosler received a BS in Chemistry from the University of Louisville in 1984 and then attended the University of Louisville School of Medicine, graduating with an MD in 1989. He performed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Louisville and Affiliated Hospitals from 1989-1992. He has been a member in the private practice of Internal Medicine since 1992 with Drs. Ciliberti, Wijangco, & Bosler, P.S.C. in Louisville. Bosler is certified with the American Board of Internal Medicine and has received the Demosthenes Award for Medical Lecture Series in 1992 and the Gaspar Carrasquer Award for Internal Medicine, also in 1992. He is a member of the American Medical Association, Kentucky Medical Association, Jefferson County Medical Society, American College of Physicians and the American College of Sports Medicine. A Woodmen of the World member since birth, Bosler is a past president of Louisville Lodge 14 and also served as Past President of the Kentucky Jurisdiction in 2004. He was elected to the Board of Directors of the Kentucky Fraternal Congress in October 2003, and served on the National Fraternal Committee from September 1, 2003 until being elected to the Woodmen of the World Board. Bosler has a distinguished history of service to Woodmen of the World and his community. He volunteers as Chief Medical Officer at the Bluegrass Woodmen of the World Youth Camp in Lexington, Ky.; is a volunteer of the Louisville Genealogical Society where he assists individuals on computer technology, photography and sports, and volunteers at Eastern High School as Team Physician. In addition, Bosler is an adult leader for Boy Scout Troop 115 of Beargrass Christian Church in Louisville and volunteers as a tournament doctor for the Professional Golf Association (PGA). Bosler uses his medical knowledge for a variety of volunteer activities including service as an FAA certified medical examiner on the Aviation Accident Scene Investigation Team, a volunteer Regional Medical Bioterrorism Response Team Leader and Regional Medical Illegal Drug Abuse Physician Education Team member. In addition, he is chairman of the medical society committees promoting public and community outreach at the Jewish Medical Center, and a member of the Medical Society Ethics Committee, the Medical Resources/Library and the American Medical Society Athletic Society. Bosler also volunteers with the National Ski Patrol, promoting healthy and safe snow skiing. He is a volunteer consultant for many drug company seminars and is the liaison to foster improved accessibility and affordability of medicines for the public. In his free time, Mr. Bosler enjoys photography, snow skiing, aviation, computer technology and sports and fitness activities. His father, James Bosler, II, is a retired Woodmen of the World Director, and his mother, Mary Etta, was elected Woodmen of the World s first Kentucky Jurisdictional President in 1965. |
