Experience:
James Parkinson is a litigator and corporate counselor focused primarily on white collar criminal defense matters on behalf of corporations and individuals. In addition, he conducts corporate internal investigations and provides compliance counseling in the context of such investigations.
James represents clients regarding the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) enforcement defense and compliance counseling; business crimes, including securities fraud, accounting irregularities, mail fraud, wire fraud, theft of honest services, and false statements; environmental crimes, especially in the context of the Clean Water Act and the Clean Air Act; and matters relating to the Economic Espionage Act. In addition, James has represented clients in the course of union-related investigations and litigation.
Prior to joining Mayer Brown in 2004, James maintained a private practice in Washington, DC (1999-2004).
