James McManus has been employed by the Company in various capacities since 1986. He is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Energen and its two operating subsidiaries, Energen Resources and Alabama Gas Corporation. He was named to his current position in January 2008. He most recently served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Energen. He served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Energen Resources for nine years. Before he was named President of Energen Resources, McManus served in numerous financial and strategic planning capacities at Energen and Alagasco. Prior to joining Energen, he worked with Price Waterhouse Coopers. He is a member of the boards and executive committees of the American Exploration & Production Council (formerly Domestic Petroleum Council) and the U.S. Oil & Gas Association; a member of the National Petroleum Council; past-director of the Independent Producers Association of America (IPAA); director of the Economic Development Partnership of Alabama (EDPA); director of the Business Council of Alabama (BCA); and director of the Gas Technology Institute (GTI). McManus is a graduate of the University of Alabama. |
