James McManus has been employed by the Company in various capacities since 1986. He is Chief Executive Officer of Energen and its two operating subsidiaries and President of Energen and Energen Resources. He was named to his current position in July 2007. He most recently served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Energen. He served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Energen Resources for nine years. Prior to joining Energen Resources he worked with Price Waterhouse Coopers. He serves on the Board and Executive Committee of the American Exploration & Production Council (AXPC) the Board and Executive Committee of the U.S. Oil & Gas Association the Board of Governors and Trustees of the Independent Producers Association of America (IPAA) and the board of the National Petroleum Council. James is a graduate of the University of Alabama.
