Jim Childress is a corporate vice president and is president and general manager of LXE Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of EMS Technologies, Inc. LXE is a leading manufacturer of rugged mobile computing systems and solutions that deliver improved productivity through wireless data collection in warehousing, distribution centers, ports, and intermodal facilities. Childress has led this growing global business, which has approximately 400 employees and annual revenues of over $140 million, since 2001.
Childress joined LXE in September 2000 as vice president, Business Development, where he was responsible for opening new markets for LXE's wireless products and services, particularly in defense logistics and other federal sectors.
Childress was previously vice president of EG&G Technical Services and general manager of EG&G's Logistics Division.
He joined EG&G in 1998 after a career in the U.S. Air Force focused on logistics and systems acquisition. His last Air Force assignment was as Commander of the San Antonio Air Logistics Center. He retired from the Air Force as a Major General.
Childress is a graduate of Hanover College, Indiana, and holds a M.S. in Logistics Management from the Air Force Institute of Technology. |
