Mr. Burns has been President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company since June 2004 and a Director since September 2004. From 2001-2003 Mr. Burns was a co-founder and served as President and as Executive Vice President of MedPointe Inc. From 2000-2001 he served as a founder and Managing Director of MedPointe Capital Partners a private equity firm that led a leveraged buyout to form MedPointe Pharmaceuticals. Mr. Burns’ experience includes serving as chairman president and CEO of Osiris Therapeutics Inc. vice chairman of HealthCare Investment Corporation founding general partner of Healthcare Ventures L.P. group president at Becton Dickinson and vice president and partner at Booz Allen & Hamilton Inc. Mr. Burns currently is chairman of the executive committee of the American Type Culture Collection (ATCC) a director of Symmetry Medical Inc. and a director of Ciphergen Biosystems Inc. |
