James S. Blair joined PetroQuest Energy in September of 2003 as Vice President of Business Development. Most recently, Mr. Blair managed acquisitions and divestitures for Wellspring Partners LLC, a marketing, engineering and advisory specialist firm located in Dallas, Texas.
Mr. Blair has extensive transaction expertise having held senior management positions at Gothic Energy Corporation in Tulsa, Cortez Oil & Gas in Dallas and Toreador Royalty Corporation in Dallas. His initial experience in the energy business was with Tenneco Oil Company in Houston in their Business Development Group from 1980 until the sale of all of the company’s exploration and production divisions in1988.
He has public and private company experience at Gothic, Cortez and Toreador that have included the management of mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, asset rationalization, corporate finance and communications with bankers, analysts, investment managers, outside engineers, accountants and attorneys. Mr. Blair earned an MBA from the University of Georgia and a BA from the University of Virginia. |
