James S. Andrasick joined A&B on June 1, 2000 as senior vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer. On April 25, 2002, he was promoted to executive vice president. On July 1, 2002, he was appointed to additional duties as president and chief executive officer of Matson Navigation Company, Inc., A&B's ocean transportation subsidiary, on an interim basis. On July 18, 2003, he was named president and chief executive officer of Matson.
Prior to joining A&B, he was president and chief operating officer of C. Brewer and Company, Limited, responsible for that company's distribution, environment, trucking and agribusiness operations. Before moving to C. Brewer in 1978, he was with Philadelphia-based IU International, then the parent company of C. Brewer, and with Ford Motor Company at its headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan.
He serves as a trustee and is on the National Executive Committee of the U. S. Coast Guard Foundation, and is a director of the Pacific Maritime Association. He also is a trustee of Mills College, and of the San Francisco National Maritime Park Association.
Andrasick is a graduate of the U. S. Coast Guard Academy, where he received a bachelor's degree in engineering. He also holds a master's degree in management science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. |
