Mr. Odham is a native of New Bern, North Carolina and is a graduate of New Bern High School. He was President of the Distributive Education Club of America and thru this work program, began his career in funeral service in 1967. Mr. Odham graduated from Kentucky School of Mortuary Science in 1967 and was Vice President of Phi Sigma Eta Fraternity.
Upon graduation, Mr. Odham returned to New Bern and joined Cotten Funeral Home as a licensed funeral director and embalmer. Several years later, in 1978, he purchased Cotten Funeral Home and served as the company’s President until his affiliation with Keystone Group Holdings, Inc. in 1998. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Odham became a member of the Keystone Advisory Board and continues to serve on that Board. Mr. Odham is currently the President of Odham, Inc., and is also a licensed auctioneer in the state of North Carolina.
Mr. Odham was an early innovator and coordinator of an important Keystone Service Program know as The Arch of Achievement Program, where he continues to serve as the program’s coordinator. This service program is designed to recognize and reward Keystone Funeral Homes and their staff, who exemplify service excellence, continuing education and superior professional skills. Each year award winners are selected by a panel of independent judges and recognized for their superior performance.
James is a member and Past Exalted Ruler of New Bern Elks Lodge and is currently serving as a Member of The Board of Trustees, he is the District Grand Lodge Auditor for the East District of N.C.; he is a member of Doric Masonic Lodge # 568 and a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, New Bern York Rite member and New Bern Sudan Temple Shriner.
James continues to reside in New Bern, North Carolina where he enjoys spending time with his loving family. |
