James R. (Rick) Ludwig, Ph.D., is Chief Executive Officer for the Indiana Centers for Applied Protein Sciences (INCAPS) since January of 2004. Dr. Ludwig is fulfilling this responsibility as a loaned executive from Eli Lilly and Company. During his twenty years with Eli Lilly and Company his responsibilities have covered a variety of scientific and managerial roles. Immediately prior to taking the helm at INCAPS, he managed Internal and External Proteomics programs and coordinated Lilly's participation in the Indiana Proteomics Consortium. Dr. Ludwig served as Interim Director for the Indiana Proteomics Consortium from April-August, 2002. In this role he was responsible for initiating the Consortium's programs, providing direction and support for the Principle Investigators, and establishing the essential infrastructure to facilitate the success of the organization. Dr. Ludwig received his M.S. and Ph.D. at the University of California, Irvine. |
