Mr. Weigand began work with DuPont in 1981 in Wilmington, Del.
From 1981 through 1987, Mr. Weigand held various assignments in the finance organization, working in the areas of federal and international taxes, business analysis, and mergers and acquisitions.
Mr. Weigand joined DuPont Performance Coatings in 1987, holding several leadership positions. He was appointed Europe sales and marketing director in 1992. In 1997, Mr. Weigand was appointed DuPont Performance Coatings global business director-Ford, responsible for delivering coatings solutions to Ford worldwide.
In 1999, Mr. Weigand was appointed director, corporate planning, working with DuPont leadership to guide the strategic direction for the corporation and to position the DuPont portfolio of businesses.
In 2001, Mr. Weigand was appointed regional sales and marketing director for Engineering Polymers, helping to achieve near double-digit growth across the broad portfolio of DuPont engineered polymers offerings in the Americas.
Mr. Weigand was appointed Advanced Fiber Systems global business director in 2003, where he had global business leadership responsibilities for products primarily under the Kevlar® and Nomex® brands sold into a variety of markets including military, state and local governments, automotive, aerospace, oil and gas, power and communications. He was appointed to his current role in September 2007.
As a native of Illinois, Mr. Weigand has a bachelors of science degree in Economics and Accounting from Augustana College, Rock Island, Ill. and an MBA in Finance from the University of Illinois. |
