Jim Shanks is executive vice president for CDW, a FORTUNE 500 company and a leading provider of technology products and services for businesses, government agencies and educational institutions.
Shanks is responsible for advancing the strategic direction and managing all aspects of CDW's corporate and public sector sales forces. This includes sales force strategy, structure, goals, revenue generation, training and development.
Shanks joined CDW in 1993 as director of information technology, was appointed vice president of information systems in 1996, served as chief information officer from 1999 until 2001 and was appointed president of CDW Government Inc. in 2001 before assuming his current position in 2006. Between 1985 and 1993, Shanks was employed by American Hotel Register as manager of information systems.
Shanks is a 1991 graduate of Barat College where he earned a Bachelor of Science in computer information systems and a 1996 graduate of Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, where he earned a master’s degree in business administration. He is a recipient of a 2005 Fed 100 award and 2005 American Business Award for best executive in the computer software & services category. |
