James M. Mulligan's practice emphasizes most all aspects of commercial real estate, including urban, resort and mixed use developments, with an additional focus in the structured financing and corporate areas of practice. He represents private and institutional developers, investors, lenders, owners and owner associations, managers, brokers, contractors, and federal, state and local political subdivisions with regard to all forms of real estate ownership, land use and entitlements, development, leasing, management and joint ventures of all kinds, public/private redevelopment projects (including historic designations, tax-increment financed projects, tax-credit structures and taxable and tax-exempt bond issues), planned communities and acquisition/disposition transactions. Mr. Mulligan has represented the real estate development and finance industries in Colorado and throughout the Rocky Mountain region on legislation, regulatory concerns, and other issues. He has been appointed Special Deputy Attorney General representing the Colorado Division of Housing in finance transactions. Mr. Mulligan has chaired the Colorado Bar Association's Real Estate Section, Colorado's Gubernatorial Unified Housing Task Force, and the Downtown Denver Task Force. He has authored and lectured extensively in the areas of land use and real estate development, finance, planned communities and affordable housing. He has been or is on the Board of the Aurora Economic Development Council (Chairman-2007), the National Association of Office and Industrial Properties (Colorado Chapter President-2007), Metro Denver Economic Development Corp., Downtown Denver Partnership, the Southeast Business Partnership, Real Estate Advisory Boards for C.U. and D.U., and the Colorado Association for Commerce and Industry. His community activities have included a Board position with Colorado Housing Assistance Corporation, Mackintosh Academy, and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Denver, Inc. He is an outdoor recreation enthusiast, a bicyclist, hiker and a movie buff. |
