James L. Hudak is Senior Managing Director and
Group Head of CIT Communications, Media and
Entertainment, a unit of CIT Group Inc. (NYSE: CIT),
a leading global commercial and consumer finance
company.
Hudak has more than 20 years experience in
corporate and leverage finance with more than 15
years specifically in the industries that his group
now serves.
He started his career at Philadelphia National
Bank/CoreStates (now Wachovia) completing their
bank training program and concentrating on
commercial real estate projects. Hudak soon had
roles at both Merrill Lynch and Citibank where he
worked in the Leveraged Finance division leading
many middlemarket transactions. In 1991, he joined
AT&T Capital in its Capital Markets and focused on
large ticket project financings and leveraged leases.
He soon joined up with one other partner and cofounded
AT&T Capital’s Telecom Group completing
numerous early stage communication transactions
well before the Telecom Act of 1996. Over the
years, Hudak has successfully guided this group
through several accretive acquisitions including,
Nomura, Newcourt Capital, Tyco and CIT and at
each stage has grown the unit to its present size of
over $2.5 billion in assets.
The scope of his division now includes wireline and
wireless communications, towers, broadcast,
publishing, sports, gaming, and many entertainment
niches including film finance.
Hudak is a frequent speaker at industry conferences.
He received a B.S. from Bucknell University and an
MBA from Cornell University. He is a former officer
in the U.S. Army and Army Reserves. |
