Jim heads BBK's Greater China activities and is based in Shanghai, China. He is proficient in spoken and written Mandarin Chinese; and French. Jim has over 10 years of Asian experience working in and consulting for the automotive, manufacturing, transportation, consumer goods, and food processing industries. He has developed and initiated strategic business plans, conducted international negotiations and led integrations, mergers and acquisitions. Professional Experience Jim served as the China Region Aftermarket Marketing Manager for Carrier Corporation, a division of United Technologies. He developed and initiated the implementation of a five-year strategic business plan to grow aftermarket revenues ten-fold. In this role, Jim performed comprehensive market reviews, redesigned pricing and inventory systems, increased the effectiveness of distribution and identified locations for new retail outlets. As Manager of Asia Pacific Business Development, he was a lead Carrier representative in the three-way joint venture negotiation with Chinas largest air conditioning company; Jim also led the Asia Pacific team in the integration of Linde, a $1 billion global refrigeration company. Prior to Carrier, Jim was the Founder and Managing Partner of Pacific Link Consulting, LLC. He helped companies establish a presence and increase their profitability in Asia markets, mapped the purchase/decision making process of the Big-4 China steel companies to secure a client equipment contracts, and helped a leading US food company facilitate the sale of facilities and equipment to China. As Product Manager for BVP Holdings, the worlds largest food ingredients supplier, Jim had P&L responsibility for the core product line ($110 million in annual revenues), directed international expansion to China and Zimbabwe, formed strategic alliances, and helped to maximize shareholder value through sale of the company to ConAgra. Before BVP holdings, Jim was a consultant in the Transportation Group at A.T. Kearney, Inc. He advised a $3 billion merger that redefined the North American railroad industry, saved a Fortune 500 manufacturer 20% in procurement costs and helped develop a next generation global procurement strategy/product for clients in Asia, Europe, and North America. Earlier in his career, Jim worked in Strategic Planning for GM Asia Pacific, Singapore; and the GM Truck Group in Michigan. He also developed locomotive proposals for the GM Electro-Motive Division in Illinois.
