James focuses his practice on counseling and litigating on behalf of banks and insurance policyholders, in addition to litigating class action and general business disputes. He represents closely-held and publicly-traded business clients on a variety of matters, including contract interpretation and dispute resolution as well as business tort litigation. He also counsels corporate clients on the establishment and administration of promotional sweepstakes. James’ experience includes successfully representing banks and corporate clients in business transaction disputes, insurance overage matters, consumer actions, and nationwide class action claims. James is also involved in community-related activities, including the Cleveland Bridge Builders Flagship Program, representing legal aid clients pro bono, and mentoring high school students interested in pursuing careers in law. A 2001 graduate of the University of Virginia Law School, James earned his B.A., magna cum laude, from John Carroll University in 1998. He joined Calfee in 2001. |
