James (Jim) J. Spanfeller is President and Chief Executive Officer of Forbes.com, home page for the world’s business leaders. As CEO, Jim oversees all aspects of the strategic and operational management of the Company. Since joining the Company, he has helped build Forbes.com into the No. 1 business site in the world with over 15 million unique visitors per month. In fact, more people get their business news and analysis from Forbes.com than from any other news sources regardless of medium. Under his leadership, Forbes.com revenue and traffic have experienced triple-digit growth year over year for the past three years.
Prior to joining Forbes.com, Spanfeller was President, Consumer Magazine Group of Ziff Davis Media, Inc. Previously, he was Publisher of Inc. magazine, and he also held senior positions at Playboy Enterprises Publishing Group and Newsweek. Spanfeller was appointed to the Board of Directors of GlowPoint in June 2004. He was elected Chairman of the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) Executive Committee for 2005, and is actively involved in the Online Publishers Association (OPA). In October 2003, he was named by MIN Magazine in its annual 21 Most Intriguing People issue as one of the industry’s standout media executives. He served on the Board of Directors of the Magazine Publishers Association, 1999-2000 and was named one of Folio magazine’s 40 Industry Visionaries in 1999. He received a B.A. in English Literature from Union College. |
