James J. Ryan, of counsel with the law firm of Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP, graduated magna cum laude from Xavier University in 1951 and from the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 1954. He had been a partner from 1971 to 1999, and was Chairman of the firm's Tax, Estate Planning and Probate Department until 1993. He has concentrated his practice on corporate and individual federal and state taxation matters such as reorganizations, mergers and business dispositions, sales and franchise taxes, and gift tax and estate planning.
