Jim’s practice focuses on all aspects of bankruptcy, and creditor/debtor disputes. Together with the Financial Services Group, he has represented a wide range of clients, including large Chapter 11 debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, creditors’ committees and individuals in all aspects of bankruptcy practice. These representations included the representation of one of the largest Chapter 11 debtors in Nebraska. In addition, he and the other members of the Financial Services Group have defended large avoidance actions and otherwise participated in protecting McGrath North’s clients’ rights in local and national bankruptcy cases of all types and sizes.
In addition to an active bankruptcy practice, Jim handles commercial litigation. He has prosecuted numerous commercial collection suits, replevin suits, and contract disputes. He has also negotiated and administered workout agreements between creditors and debtors of all sizes, and assisted McGrath North’s clients in negotiating and documenting secured lines of credit.
Jim has been a shareholder in McGrath North since 1990.
