As president of the Meals division, Jim Murphy has broad responsibilities for overseeing business operations of five convenient meal categories: Helpers dinner mixes, Old El Paso Mexican products, Progresso soups and ingredients, Green Giant vegetables and Betty Crocker side dishes.
Murphy joined General Mills in 1992. His marketing experience has spanned a cross-section of our major businesses, including Meals, Big G, Snacks and Baking Products. He was elected a General Mills vice president in December 2003 and was promoted to president of the Meals division in 2006.
Murphy is a 1986 graduate of Colorado College with a bachelor’s degree in economics. He completed his MBA at the University of Virginia in 1992.
Murphy is active within his local community, serving on the board of Perspectives Family Center, an organization that offers services and hope to homeless and at-risk children and their families. |
