James H. Hancock is a partner in Seward & Kissel's Corporate Finance group and is head of the firm's Aircraft Finance practice. Mr. Hancock has practiced at the firm since 1966, and has been a partner since 1974.
For a major portion of his career on Wall Street, Mr. Hancock has been actively involved in asset based and structured finance and has participated in the development of a wide range of new securitization products, including such diverse instruments as notes backed by mutual fund distribution fees to aircraft lease based enhanced equipment trust certificates. He is the former Chair of the Aircraft Finance Subcommittee of the Commercial Financial Services Committee of the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association and a frequent speaker and author on securitization and asset based finance topics.
Mr. Hancock received a B.A. degree (with a major in economics) from Kentucky Wesleyan College, a LL.B. from Vanderbilt University in 1966, and a LL.M. (in taxation) from New York University in 1971. He is a member of the International Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. |
