James H. Cundiff is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Firm’s Chicago office. He is a member of the Private Client Department.
As a member of the American Association of Attorney-Certified Public Accountants and the Chicago and American bar associations, Jim frequently writes and speaks on a variety of tax and estate planning subjects. Jim’s practice focuses on family wealth and business planning; federal estate, gift and generation-skipping tax planning; and estate and trust administration. Jim is actively engaged in the structuring of family business control and succession planning, multi-generational wealth transfer planning, and estate plan design and implementation. This provides Jim with a particularly broad perspective in counseling closely held businesses and family members.
In 1992, Jim earned a Bachelor’s degree and in 1995 his law degree and a Master’s degree in accountancy.
James is admitted to the Illinois bar.
