Dr. Martin has been associated with the Carolinas HealthCare System since January 1993, and currently is Corporate Vice President. He served as Governor of the State of North Carolina from 1985 through 1992 and was a member of the United States House of Representatives, representing the Ninth District of North Carolina from 1973 until 1984. He also is a director of Duke Energy Corporation, aaiPharma, Inc. and Palomar Medical Technologies, Inc.
