James G. Cosgrove is responsible for the administration of the Firm’s tax practice. He has many years’ experience with both local and international firms providing tax services to individuals, estates and trusts, flow-through entities, international businesses, multistate companies, and entities requiring business valuations. His valuation practice has included engagements involving transfer tax issues, buy-sell agreements, mergers and acquisitions, and litigation. Mr. Cosgrove works with clients in a variety of industries including biotech, construction, manufacturing, restaurants, service and distribution companies, consumer goods, medical practices, printing companies, not-for-profit organizations, technology, and utilities. Mr. Cosgrove holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Maryland, a Master of Science Degree in Taxation from Pace University, and a Certified Valuation Analyst certificate. He has taught as an adjunct professor at local universities and has conducted numerous training programs and seminars on matters such as federal income taxation, state and local taxation, international tax, estate planning and valuation. He also has authored articles on tax and financial planning. A member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, Mr. Cosgrove serves on the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement of Western Connecticut, Inc., the Cardinal Sheehan Center, and the Shelton Economic Development Corporation. |
