Jim Brown concentrates his practice on labor and employment law, representing employers before the National Labor Relations Board, the State of Florida Public Employees Relations Commission and the Department of Labor. He also defends employers in federal and state courts in civil rights litigation involving race, sex, national origin, discrimination, sexual harassment, disability and age discrimination. His practice also includes the Service Contract Act and the Davis Bacon Act. Jim is a Certified Mediator, who has mediated over 200 labor and employment cases.
Jim is a frequent speaker on labor and employment topics before trade and professional groups. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America and Leading Florida Attorneys and in Chambers USA's America's Leading Business Lawyers. Jim was also recognized by Florida Trend Magazine as one of "Florida's Legal Elite" and by the Orlando Business Journal as one of the "Best of the Bar." He was named a 2006 and 2007 "Super Lawyer," a Top 50 Lawyer in Central, Northern and Gulf Coast Florida and one of the Top 100 Lawyers in Florida by Law & Politics Magazine. He is AV® Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell. Jim was chair of the Labor and Employment Law Section of The Florida Bar in 1984-85. He is a former President of the Kiwanis Club of East Orlando.
