Practice Focus
Jim chairs the firm’s Family Law practice group, which has substantial experience in complex divorce litigation. He also has wide-ranging litigation experience including arbitrations, trials and appellate practice involving banks, large corporations and small businesses. He has practiced with the firm since 1992. In addition, Jim’s practice focus concentrates on probate law, as well as construction law and litigation.Sample Matters
Obtained a six-figure award against a builder in an arbitration concerning the inappropriate construction of a home.
Obtained a verdict in favor of a commercial creditor that invalidated a fraudulent family trust set up by the debtor fifteen years earlier. Following oral argument at the New Hampshire Supreme Court, the debtor paid the creditor.
Successfully represented a fixed-based operator in the aviation industry in litigation against a party that breached its contract by removing the aircraft to a competitor. The case resulted in a favorable six-figure settlement.

Jim is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in New Hampshire. He holds membership in the New Hampshire Bar Association and is a member of the New Hampshire Association of Continuing Legal Education Committee.
Community Involvement
Jim recently served three years as a member of the Board of Directors for Families in Transition, a not-for-profit organization in Manchester, New Hampshire, that provides transitional housing for homeless women and children. |
