James F. Patterson is a board member of Nationwide Financial Services, Inc. (NFS), a part of Nationwide, a $161 billion diversified financial services organization based in Columbus, Ohio. NFS is the publicly traded holding company for Nationwide's long-term savings operation. He was first elected to the board in 1996.
Mr. Patterson retired from the Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company board in April 2007 after 18 years of service. He served as vice chairman from 2001 to 2007 and board chairman of Nationwide Mutual Fire Insurance Company from 1994 to 2001. He also served on the boards of other Nationwide companies.
He is president of Patterson Farms, Inc., and has operated Patterson Fruit Farm in Chesterland, Ohio, since 1964. Mr. Patterson is on the board of University Hospitals Health System/Geauga Hospital, is honorary director of University Hospitals Health System, and serves as a member of the Ohio Board of Regents. He is past president of the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation, former member of Cleveland Foundation's Lake and Geauga Advisory Committee, former board member of the National Cooperative Business Association, and former trustee and past board chairman of The Ohio State University.
He is a member of the Ohio Fruit Growers Society, Huntington National Bank's Geauga Advisory Committee, Alpha Gamma Rho Alumni Association and Mayfield United Methodist Church.
A Cleveland-area native, Mr. Patterson graduated from West Geauga High School and earned his Bachelor of Science degree from The Ohio State University. |
