As executive vice president and chief financial officer of Visteon, James F. Palmer provides financial and operations leadership for Visteon as it continues to expand its global presence. Palmer oversees the corporate finance office, which includes the controller, treasury, and tax and audit operations that support all of Visteon's activities. He is an elected corporate officer. Palmer's most recent position was president of Boeing Capital Corporation, overseeing all aspects of the financial services subsidiary of The Boeing Company before his retirement in late 2003. During his tenure at The Boeing Company and McDonnell Douglas, prior to the merger of the two companies in 1997, Palmer held a variety of senior management positions. He has extensive experience in business operations, financial control, external reporting, treasury, investor relations, strategy and corporate development. From 1995 to 1997, Palmer served as senior vice president and chief financial officer for McDonnell Douglas Corp. Prior to that, he held the position of vice president and treasurer at the company. He began his career at Ernst & Young in 1971. From 1985 to 1991, he held the position of audit partner, managing a wide variety of clients and services for the firm. Palmer holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Southeast Missouri State University. He is a certified public accountant and a member of the Financial Executive Institute.
