Jim's reputation for succeeding on the toughest assignments by assembling all of the moving pieces within each transaction stretches to both coasts. Prior to founding OHG, Jim was a Managing Director for Horwath Landauer Consulting. He developed a national brokerage team, implemented a national Account Management Program and created an incentive program whereby hospitality consultants participated in the transaction process through a referral network.
Jim was one of the original members of Insignia ESG/Hotel Partners. In 1993, as Senior Managing Director, he opened the Boston office and managed the Northeast Region for six years. He has sold hotels across the country and is known for having sold more hotels in New England than any other broker. A representative client list is shown below.
During the banking crisis of the early 1990's, Jim managed the $1-billion hotel portfolio of the failed Bank of New England for the FDIC within FleetBoston and RECOLL Management Corporation. He was responsible for overseeing the sale of owned hotels, consulting with lending officers on workout strategies and providing valuations to investors within the capital markets for distressed hotel loans. |
