Jim Poole, an Oxford, Mississippi, native, renown for his accomplishments on the Ole Miss football team, graduated in 1972, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, with a major in Accounting. At Ole Miss, he was a member of Omicron Delta Kappa Honorary and Beta Alpha Psi, Accounting Honorary. Following graduation, Jim owned businesses in real estate development, mortgage banking, and oil and gas exploration. He later was the sole proprietor of an accounting firm. As his business grew, Jim was joined by other accountants and partners to form Poole, Cunningham & Reitano, P.A., which became GranthamPoole in January 1999. At GranthamPoole, Jim’s talents are focused primarily in the areas of management advisory services and financial services. Jim is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Central Chapter of the Mississippi Society of CPAs. Jim is an active volunteer of Kairos Prison Ministries, and serves on the Kairos Advisory Council for the Central Mississippi Correctional Facility. In 2004, Jim was elected to the Board of Directors of Cal-Maine Foods, Inc. Headquartered in Jackson, Cal-Maine is currently the largest producer and marketer of fresh shell eggs in the United States. Jim is married to the former Gayle Smithson of Jackson, and they have three daughters, Tresa, Meta, and Anna Rose. The family attends Holy Trinity Anglican Church. For relaxation, Jim enjoys following Ole Miss athletics and playing golf. |
