James E. DeLine is a Member of Kerr, Russell and Weber, PLC. Mr. DeLine specializes in business litigation, antitrust law and creditor's rights. Mr. DeLine has extensive experience in state and federal courts and in all phases of complex civil litigation. He has appeared before the Michigan Court of Appeals, the Ohio Court of Appeals, the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and is admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court. Mr. DeLine was lead counsel in several published cases, including Wausau Underwriters Ins. Co. v. Vulcan Development, Inc., 323 F.3d 396 (6th Cir. 2003); United States Leather, Inc. v. Mitchell Mfg. Group, Inc., 276 F.3d 782 (6th Cir. 2002); In Re: Garrett Tool & Engineering, Inc., 273 B.R. 123 (Bankr. E.D. Mich. 2002); and UAW-GM Human Resource Center v. KSL Recreation Corp., 228 Mich. App. 486, 579 N.W.2d 411 (1998), appeal denied, 459 Mich. 945, 590 N.W.2d 66 (1999).
Mr. DeLine is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and formerly served as the Chairperson of the Antitrust, Franchising & Trade Regulation Section of the State Bar of Michigan. He is also a member of the Antitrust Section of the American Bar Association and serves on the Trial Practice Committee. Mr. DeLine has authored several articles and lectured in the areas of business litigation and antitrust law.
Mr. DeLine graduated in 1988 from the University of Michigan and earned his law degree in 1991 from Wayne State University Law School, where he was a member of the Wayne Law Review and Moot Court National Team.
