James E. Utterback
Profile : Jim Utterback is co-chair of the firm's Health Law Practice Group and a member of the Business Services Practice Group. Mr. Utterback represents health care practitioners and organizations in the areas of practice management, formation and sale of medical practices and health care facilities, and Medicare/Medicaid Fraud and Abuse and False Claims Act Liability. Mr. Utterback also represents manufacturers and producers of medical devices, cosmetics, foods, and other products regulated by the F.D.A. Prior to joining Bose McKinney & Evans, Mr. Utterback was in private practice. He previously served as in-house counsel for IBM, Bristol-Myers Squibb, and Hill-Rom. Mr. Utterback received his juris doctorate degree, cum laude, and master of laws (L.L.M.) degree in health law, policy, and bioethics, summa cum laude, from Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis, graduating first in his L.L.M. class. He also received a master of business administration degree from Xavier University's Williams College of Business. Mr. Utterback is admitted to practice in Indiana and New York.
