James E. Milliman engages in a diversified litigation practice with broad experience in commercial and intellectual property litigation. Mr. Milliman has argued before the United States Supreme Court. He represented Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company in a highly publicized case, Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company v. Wigand, against a whistleblower which upheld the right of the company to protect its confidential information. Mr. Milliman has also handled extensive election litigation.Mr. Milliman has experience dealing with the media in high profile cases, including the Brown & Williamson case and his successful representation of the Governor of Kentucky in an action to disqualify him during the primary as a candidate.
