Jim Hart graduated from Florida State University in 1966 with a Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management. He received his MBA from Mississippi College in August of 1994. Jim served in the U.S. Army, (1966-1970) where as a Captain he ran an Officer's Club in the Panama Canal Zone.He spent four years as General Manager at three different Holiday Inns, in Harlingen, Texas; Stillwater, Oklahoma; and Conway, Arkansas. He began his career with MMI in 1974 as Assistant Innkeeper in Hammond, Louisiana. In 1975, he became a Food and Beverage Manager and in 1977 became Field Representative for the corporate Food and Beverage Department. Jim was promoted to Vice President-Food and Beverage in 1978 and has served since 1982 as Vice President-Human Resources. He took on the added responsibilities of Assistant to the President in the fall of 1993.Jim became responsible for corporate accounting in January of 1995. In February of 1996, Jim was promoted to Vice President of Administration. His areas of responsibility include personnel, compensation, benefits, training and development, guest relations and corporate accounting.Jim holds the designation of Certified Hotel Administrator from the American Hotel & Motel Association as well as being a certified Professional Human Resources Specialist. He currently is a member of the American Hotel Foundation Grants and Schlorship Committee and serves on the American Hotel and Motel Association's Human Resources Committee. |
