James E. Cole concentrates his practice in the area of intellectual property with a focus specifically in patent law. His background in mechanical engineering especially qualifies him to handle a wide range of patentable intellectual properties. Prior to law school James worked as a plant engineer for a national lime manufacturing corporation where he managed a wide range of plant updates and enhancements. He supervised the design, purchase, and installation of many systems such as a new potable water system, a waste water treatment facility, a major expansion of the plant compressed air system, as well as renovation of the structural steel throughout many of the plant processing facilities. During law school he was the Vice-president of Public Relations for the Moot Court Board and a member of the Journal of Law and Education. During that time he was also employed in the intellectual property department of an international printer manufacturer and gained experience in patent prosecution. James enjoys working closely with inventors during both the application and prosecution process of obtaining patent protection. He is an avid golfer and enjoys scuba diving. |
