James D. Spound is a Senior Managing Director of Centerline Capital Group (Centerline), a subsidiary of Centerline Holding Company (NYSE:CHC), and group manager of the Commercial Real Estate Group, where he is responsible for overseeing loan origination and portfolio retention efforts. Prior to his position in the Commercial Real Estate Group, Mr. Spound was the Group Manager of the Credit Risk Products Group, where he was responsible for the launch of Centerline Financial, the Company's credit intermediation subsidiary. Mr. Spound joined Centerline in 1997 as a Managing Director, directing the firm’s affordable debt platform for multifamily rental housing, a position he held until 2006. Before coming to Centerline, Mr. Spound was with First Union Capital Markets, where he was a Vice President in the Public Finance Department specializing in affordable housing finance. From 1992 to 1996, Mr. Spound served as an investment banker in the Municipal Markets Group at Merrill Lynch & Co. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch & Co., Mr. Spound was senior consultant at Kenneth Leventhal & Company focused on debt restructurings in the real estate industry. He spent the first three years of his financial career as a project manager at New York City’s Economic Development Corporation, where he was responsible for underwriting and administering incentive loans to support the City’s economic development goals. Mr. Spound received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brown University and a Master of Science in Management from the Sloan School at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. |
