Jim Hagestad is a senior audit manager with the firm’s Not-for-Profit practice group. A graduate of Concordia University in 1994, he began his career in public accounting and immediately served on several not-for-profit audit engagements. In 1999, Jim joined Blackman Kallick and continued to develop a specialization in the not-for-profit industry, focusing on professional and trade associations. He is now responsible for managing several of the firm’s not-for-profit engagements. Because Jim is aware of the resource limitations of many not-for-profits, he views the audit process as an opportunity to help clients improve their overall operations. Jim has frequently provided audit clients with recommendations for improving and strengthening their internal controls. In addition, he has advised clients on potential new controls to further safeguard their assets and improve their efficiency. Jim is an instructor for the firm’s continuing education on not-for-profit topics. He is also a member of the AICPA, the Illinois CPA Society and the Association Forum of Chicagoland and the American Society of Association Executives. |
