Mr. Cook is president of CSC's Financial Services Group, responsible for the sale and delivery of all CSC products and services including application software, systems integration, consulting, and outsourcing solutions to the global financial services industry.
Before assuming leadership of the Financial Services Group, Jim was president of The Pinnacle Alliance serving J.P. Morgan, the Wall Street investment bank, by joining together the world-class capabilities of CSC, Accenture, Verizon, and AT&T.
Prior to his role as president of the Pinnacle Alliance, Mr. Cook was a vice president of CSC Index, which was then the management consulting arm of CSC. While at CSC Index he worked with clients in the formulation of business strategy. Mr. Cook's client work often involved integrating and linking execution across business and functional boundaries. He specialized in helping CEOs and CIOs communicate, and ensuring that information technology is focused on the business' needs and strategy.
Mr. Cook brings to CSC clients an accomplished record as an executive, line manager and change agent. His background is punctuated by the sponsorship, development and execution of major transformational efforts across a wide range of functions. Before joining CSC Index, Mr. Cook was vice president and CIO at Kraft Foods and vice president of sales at a $27 billion subsidiary of Philip Morris, Inc., the world's largest consumer packaged goods company. Before that, he was vice president of purchasing, quality, productivity and CIO at General Foods. Earlier assignments included heading up manufacturing for the Post Cereal business, directing strategic planning for the customer support services group, and holding several marketing/brand management positions.
Mr. Cook received an MBA degree in marketing and finance from Stanford University and earned a BS degree in operations research and electrical engineering from MIT. He concluded his service in the U.S. Army as a captain.
