Mr. Abruzzo is a member of the Patent Bar and joined RatnerPrestia after working as a summer associate with the firm. He received his J.D. from Seton Hall University Law School. His practice encompasses all aspects of Intellectual Property protection and enforcement. Mr. Abruzzo graduated from Villanova University with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering, a Minor in Chemistry, and a Business Concentration. While in school, he performed preliminary research for development of a web-based engineering teaching tool that would enable students to access the tutorial from any campus network location. After graduating from Villanova, Mr. Abruzzo worked as an Applications Engineer with a subsidiary of a multi-national corporation, where he designed and provided price quotations for customized capital water treatment equipment, including deaerators, water softeners, and de-ionizers to meet customer specifications for such diverse sectors as pharmaceutical, power, chemical and municipality. Thereafter, Mr. Abruzzo worked as a Process Control Engineer in the Catalytic Systems Division of an international specialty chemicals company. In that position, he oversaw the application of precious metal concentrates to substrates, ensuring the production of high quality autocatalysts while working with Production Supervisors and Quality Control Supervisors to meet industry standards. He was elevated to Precision Coater Engineer where he worked on troubleshooting and streamlining newly implemented robot- and computer-driven precision coating technology while still meeting rigorous production capacity requirements. During Law School, Mr. Abruzzo was the Events Coordinator for the Intellectual Property Law Association and a member of the Corporate Law Association. He was selected to serve as a Teaching Fellow for Seton Hall's Academic Support Program, where he tutored first-year law students in such skills as exam-taking, legal analysis and case synthesis. In addition, Mr. Abruzzo worked as a Research Assistant for a distinguished professor and Fulbright Scholar, researching and editing articles regarding foreign and domestic constitutional law and campaign finance reform issues. He also actively participated in Seton Hall's Civil Litigation Clinic providing legal services for pro se clients. Mr. Abruzzo co-authored a Paper presented at the 1999 International Water Conference titled "Deaeration - The Parallel Difference," and has given technical presentations at national corporate meetings.
