Mr. Smith is a Chartered Accountant with over 30 years of experience in public accounting and industry. Since 1998, he has been a business consultant to a number of public and private companies operating in the oil and gas industry. From 2002 until its sale in 2006, he was also the Chief Financial Officer of Mercury Energy Corporation, a private oil and natural gas company and from 2001 until the sale of the company in 2003, was the Chief Financial Officer of Segue Energy Corporation, a private oil and natural gas company. From 1999 to 2000, Mr. Smith was the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Probe Exploration Inc., a publicly traded oil and natural gas company. While the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Crestar Energy Inc. from its inception in 1992 until 1998, the company completed an initial public offering, was listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and completed several major debt and equity financing transactions. Mr. Smith is currently a director of Grand Petroleum Inc., TAG Oil Ltd., Pure Energy Services Inc., and Grey Wolf Exploration Inc.
