Jim Miller became Idaho Power Senior Vice President of Power Supply on July 1, 2004. In this role, Miller is responsible for the production and supply of electricity including the operation of 17 hydroelectric projects; overseeing the company's relicensing efforts; managing the company's interest in four thermal generation plants in Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada and Oregon, and marketing and contract activities related to power supply.
Prior to this appointment Miller served as Senior Vice President of Delivery. He was named to this position in September 1999. He was responsible for the company's electric transmission and distribution systems and retail customer care, including metering and billing.
Miller has assumed a variety of responsibilities during his career with the company including manager of wholesale marketing, manager of system operations, and general manager of power delivery. In 1997, he was named vice president of generation with the responsibility for the company's hydro and thermal generating resources, environmental affairs and hydro relicensing.
Miller is also a Chairman of the Board for the Pacific Northwest Utilities Conference Committee and on the board of directors for the Western Electricity Coordinating Council. In addition, he serves as Chairman of the Board for the Treasure Valley American Heart Association and is Chairman of the University of Idaho College of Engineering Advisory Board.
He is a graduate of the University of Idaho (Bachelor of Science, Electrical Engineering - 1976) and the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program in 1999. |
