James C. Brown joined Boston Private Bank & Trust Company in 1999. He is Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer. Jim heads the Commercial Lending business for the Bank, which includes lending activities with commercial real estate, commercial and industrial businesses, personal and professional and nonprofit services and small business. He serves as a member of the Bank’s Policy Group, Credit Committee, Sales & Marketing Committee, and Community Reinvestment Committee. In his time at Boston Private, the commercial loan portfolio has increased from $175 million to $850 million. Prior to his time at Boston Private, Jim spent eight years in Commercial Lending at State Street Bank & Trust Company. He was originally trained as a credit analyst in 1987 at Shawmut Bank. Jim holds a BS from Nichols college and an MBA from Boston College. In addition to his work at Boston Private Bank, Jim serves on fundraising committees for Children’s Hospital Boston and Judge Baker Children’s Center. |
