James B. Rothnie was the Senior Vice President, Chief Technology Officer of EMC from 2000 to 2002, the world leader in information storage. During this period role he was responsible for the overall technical strategy of the company, which included exploiting the revolution in storage density, driving the revolution in storage connectivity, and inventing the revolution in storage manageability. He joined EMC in 1995 and served as Senior Vice President Global Marketing and Senior Vice President Product Management. Prior to joining EMC, Mr. Rothnie served at Data General Corporation as Vice President of Software Development. From 1986 to 1994, he was Executive Vice President of Kendall Square Research, where he led the development of pioneering large-scale parallel computers and related software. From 1976 to 1985, Mr. Rothnie served in a variety of senior management positions including President and Chief Operating Officer at Computer Corporation of America. CCA was a key innovator in database management software methods, particularly distributed databases. Mr. Rothnie holds a Bachelor of Science and a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. |
